The Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships are awarded each year by the Swiss Confederation to encourage international exchange and research cooperation. They are mainly intended for talented early career researchers from abroad who have already completed their Master's degree.
There are two types of scholarships: research scholarships for postgraduate researchers in any discipline, and art scholarships for students wishing to pursue an initial Master's degree in an artistic field in Switzerland. Research scholarships provide funding of CHF 2450 per month and are open to applicants from 183 countries, while art scholarships are available only to students from a limited number of countries.
